3. FIS SKI WORLD CUP 2015 TELEMARK – 1. raceday, 27.11.2015

Philippe Lau (FRA) and Amelie Reymond (SUI) took first place on todays opening of the FIS Telemark World Cup in Hintertux. After the two race runs the french Philippe Lau and swiss-born Amelie Reymond successfully prevailed over their competition and so managed to be standing on the victory podium.

On the first day of the FIS Telemark World Cup opening in Hintertux, the french Philippe Lau dominated again both races in the men’s sprinting race and so managed to win with a total time of 1:29,96 minutes ahead of the german Tobias Müller (1:32,82) and Nicolas Michel (1:33,53) from Switzerland: I had a very good feeling today so I’m really happy now.“, so the 29-year old French.

In the women’s race Amelie Reymond from Switzerland took first place with a total time of 1:40,81 ahead of norwegian Mathilde Ilebrekke with a total time of 1:44. Johanna Holzmann from Germany took third place with a time of 1:44,50. As she injured herself two weeks ago she was very happy to manage finishing in 3rd position. „ I hope that I’ll be able to as soon as possible gain my strength back and so be faster again in the next races“, said the 20 year old German. Amelie Reymond was very content as well: „It is really great to beginn the season like this. I’m really happy about my first place. You never know what will happen in the first race and how good the others will be so it’s a really good surprise.“

Thanks to the superb weather conditions it was a great kick-off day with hardly falls or dangerous situations. Tomorrow’s second round starts at 9.30 am and will hopefully also be as smoothly and satisfying as today.
